Mickums!

Aiden is so excited about the snow :o) Phil is not as enthused! Thank goodness for a neighbor who has a snow blade attachment for his 4-wheeler. Paul (our next door neighbor, and old class mate of Phil's) did such a favor for us - plowed our driveway on Christmas day. We have drifts on the sides of our house that are 4 or 5 feet tall. All Aiden wants to do is go outside "Cold....Brrrr" he says! He also loves his hat and mickums :o) We even let him push a shovel around for a few minutes in the drive way -- a huge fit was thrown when I made him come inside.

We had such a nice time on Christmas day - much more fun when you have kids, I think. I loved seeing the excitement on his face when each new gift received. I am so thankful for our family. Having our 2 little boys is the greatest gift.

We have a very busy upcoming week, and hope all of our friends and family members are having a very happy holiday.

Hit With A TON Of Bricks -

So, Phil & I watched the season finale of Dexter on Monday - And I can't get the last 5 minutes out of my head....And not in a good way! I feel like I need therapy after those agonizing final moments. And all I can say, is that I can't wait for the next season!

After not taking the boys out of the house in over a week (because of the cold) today was warmer - so we ran some errands. Boy were they the least cooperative - I have never had such an issue venturing out by myself with 2 kids under 2. Aiden would start acting up and just as he would calm down Graham would start. YIKES - Those poor people doing their shopping didn't know what hit them :o) Yep, it was my unruly babies! I have never been so wiped out just going to a few places.

We are having some family photos taken in 2 days - I can't wait to have pictures of Graham on our walls! I sure hope it is an easy process - I guess we will see. One thing is for sure, they are bound to be the cutest pictures ever!

Chomping At The Bit

Tonight can't come fast enough! Yes, it is always nice when Phil walks in the door after a long day at work -- But I wish he was home now! The Dexter season finale was last night and we didn't get a chance to watch it.....Sure I could sucome to that need to know feeling in my brain - but watching it with Phil is much better :o) So, there are only 8 more hours until (what will be undoubtedly be) the best episode of the season!

This weekend we did a lot of relaxing - we played cards a few times, all of which I lost....Not fun - what will be fun? When I can start kicking butt again. (Even though I know it's just luck of the draw)- That's funny: every time I am a big fat loser at cards I say that....But when I win, it's because I have some great strategy that you don't know :o)

This coming Friday Phil & I have a Feliz Navidad party....You know you have single friends when their party doesn't start til 9:00pm -- and No, we aren't still in college! On the plus side, Aiden will be in bed sleeping by the time my M-I-L gets here to watch the baby. I am betting if he is put in the swing, he too will sleep the whole time. We won't be out too late - 11:30 tops, because as all you parents know: toddlers and babies don't care how late you went to bed! They are going to be up at the butt-crack of dawn to rub in your face that the tequila you had after 3 cervezas was not such a good idea.

Not that I will be drinking tequila.

My Jingle Bells Are On!

Phil and I got to get out of the house over the weekend without the boys. IT WAS SO FUN! Now, I love being at home with my babies -- But boy oh boy did Mommy need to get out of the house :o)

We went down to the Old Market and had dinner at Blue. I love sushi! I haven't had it since before I got pregnant with Graham. It was so yummy, and definitely filled my craving for it. We also met up with some old friends we used to hang out with when we all lived in Lincoln. It was so nice seeing everyone and getting to be Lyndi - and not mommy.

We put up our tree this weekend, and while it isn't the best tree I have ever done Aiden seems to love it. It has glossy and matte bulbs - gold and red. White ribbons with gold edging tied into bows - and a choo-choo train for my train fanatic. We have watched a few Christmas movies, but we haven't seen my favorite yet. Sure we have seen some really good ones.....But I am saving It's A Wonderful Life for a little later -- Why? You ask..... Because I cry like a BABY with that movie. Not at one part, or a few scenes. I cry at least (and I mean AT LEAST) 10 times. I must admit though.....George Bailey is one sweet guy - He lassos the moon :o)

It snowed a boat load today. I even shoveled the whole deck & 1/2 of the driveway while the boys were napping. Not to mention my other Stay At Home Mom duties like dishes & laundry. That's right -- Philip hit the jackpot :o)

But I did too!

December!

Only 1 more month of 2009 :o) This year has gone so quick!!! I am looking forward to what 2010 offers us, and hoping our health is as good as it was this year (minus getting pregnant!)

We just got back from Colorado - We spent Thanksgiving with my Mom's side, and really enjoyed being there. The weather was beautiful as usual, we had fantastic food on Thursday -- thanks to my Aunt & Uncle. Our football team won (which was no surprise), and Aiden and Graham both did really well driving there & back.

I can't help but think how lucky and blessed I am to be able to go on a trip to be with family. We had a very nice time staying at my grandparent's house -- Aiden played outside, we took him to the train museum (he went totally crazy for it!), and spent a lot of time talking. I was sad to leave, but am glad to be home where we have baby gates :o)

The hardest part about coming home has been getting unpacked and everything put away - I should have done it yesterday, but no such luck! We spent the day getting caught up on other things. My plan is to run some errands today, and then spend whatever time I can when Aiden naps getting things put away. We will see if that actually happens though :o)

We plan on putting up our Christmas Tree this weekend -- last year A was scared of it.....Something tells me it wont be like that this year :o) I am getting excited for Christmas, and can't wait to take pictures of my boys!

My Big Baby

Yesterday was Graham's 2 month check up. We got to the doctor's office and boy was I surprised (but not shocked) when the scale said 16 pounds! He falls into the 97th percentile for weight, and was 25 inches long which is the 90th percentile for height :o) Aiden was 12 pounds 3 ounces when he was 2 months old - So he better watch out, otherwise his "little" brother might beat him up :o)

I am currently enjoying my iced vanilla latte at the kitchen table while Aiden watches his Thomas DVD. He sure is crazy for those darn choo choo trains! So sweet though - we got a fleece print with Thomas & Friends and he couldn't be any more excited about it. I wrapped it around his mattress and now he says "Choo-Choo in bed!" (thus making it easier for him to go down for a nap or bed time!)

It is wet, cold, and windy outside -- not the sort of weather we want, but I guess it is nearing the end of November...

Can I also say how irritated with all the sales ads/e-mail specials I have been getting in my inbox - GGGGRRRRRR. I guess it will be over soon enough, and I can always change my email preferences.

I hope everyone has a GREAT Thanksgiving - I am so grateful for my wonderful family, for our good health, and all the wonderful friends I have in my life.

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

Until next time-

Blogging in Bed

It is 9:45 on Tuesday morning and Aiden, Graham and I are in bed watching Sesame Street. Aiden always gets so excited when he gets to see Graham first thing in the morning. Graham is the first appointment on Aiden's daily schedule -- makes sure he gives him a kiss and tells him "Baby!" and then he can go about his playing and reading. So funny; I am glad that Aiden came around to the idea of having Graham here. At first it wasn't so easy, but we all survived :o)

So last week I broke the kitchen faucet.....well, not the whole thing -- the lever that turns on our water. It was attached by this black plastic piece inside of the lever - anyways, so ever since last Thursday I have had to turn the water on with a screw driver. The home improvement stores didn't carry this piece from Moen (only a brand new faucet was available there)so I had to order it online. I found it at a surplus store because I just couldn't see myself spending $8 on ground shipping for a $4 piece! So I got the attachment kit for $3.23 and free shipping :o) My very own Mike Delfino fixed it last night! Thanks honey :o)

*** If you were wondering who Mike Delfino was, he is on Desperate Housewives -- Played by James Denton. (Married to Susan Mayer -- Played by Teri Hatcher)

Off To See The Wizard......

Last night The Wizard of Oz was on TV and Aiden was captivated by it. Never in a million years would I have thought he would be interested by a movie that is 70 years old! He loved Toto, probably because we have a small dog - and he loved Munchkin Land. We did not watch the whole movie; as it is very long, especially when you add commercials to it. Plus we were getting him ready for bedtime.

Not even 10 minutes ago I had to break into my backyard :o) Hopping a 6ft privacy fence isn't easy when you are 5ft 4in! I went out the back to get the mail so the dog wouldn't bark (kids are napping) and I latched the gate -- OOPS! Not an easy task when you are wearing flip flops, may I also add that I totally pulled it off and the judges would have given me a 9.4 for my beautiful dismount.....Note to self: Although you may look good hopping a fence -- don't make it a habit!

I am looking forward to this week - My good friend Jody and her husband Billy welcomed their second beautiful daughter on November 13th and I get to meet her on Wednesday! Other then that, our week should be pretty easy going. I can't believe that the holiday season is starting next week :o) Where did 2009 go?

Busy Busy Busy

I did not intend on waiting this long to blog again! Time has a way of escaping me. This weekend we took a mini trip to York, NE to spend some time with family. My Great Aunt & Uncle were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, so a ton of people came to town for it. My Grandparents from Colorado came, so Phil and I packed up the kids and drove the hour and a half to see them. I am so glad we did, I hadn't seen the G.G.'s (Short for Great Grandparents -- for Aiden and Graham) since Christmas of 2008 -- before we were prego with Graham! It didn't feel that long though, since I talk to them several times a week on the phone....For at least 30 minutes at a time...Anywho -- So we stayed in a hotel with our 2 boys, which was interesting. Our schedules were so off, Aiden hardly slept and barely ate -- and it seemed once one was sleeping the other was waking up. There was so much to see and endless things for a toddler to explore; and so many walls to knock into along the way! It was nice visiting, I just wish we would have had a few more days -- and some baby gates :o)

I also wanted to comment about my new daily routine... Before I can explain, you need some history... When I first moved to Nebraska it was into the dorms in Lincoln. I took a Spanish class M-F starting at 8:30 am (what I was thinking doing that--who knows!) So on my way back from Spanish class, I would walk up the 3 flights of stairs and make my way to my room. Every door on my floor would be open (lived in an all girls dorm) and The Price Is Right would be on EVERY SINGLE TV. I never understood this -- being from Colorado, NOBODY I knew watched this show. I didn't see the appeal, all the loud audience members with their home made shirts... What a show... Just recently I have become a fan (I guess living in Nebraska for over 7 years did it to me! LOL) I want to spin that damn wheel -- the wheel that determines who goes to the showcase. It makes me feel like such a dummy, but I have to see that part of the show. So today, I tune in to see it and every member of the audience was an active member of the military. They had army, navy, marine, coast guard, air force -- it was very cool. Anyways, if you are currently serving or you did in the past THANK YOU! I appreciate you and the hard work you did/do.

By the way -- I am no longer a blonde, I made the transition to a full fledged brunette. I am sooooo not used to it yet -- but got tired of my roots growing out and having blonde ends. I will have to change the colors I use for makeup (HA! That is laughable, considering I very seldom wear it!) Hopefully I wont look like a drag queen experimenting with some bolder eye shadow colors! (Not that looking like a drag queen is a bad thing....if you are a drag queen! Just not for me, a mother of 2!) So until next time :o)

All dressed up

My little boys are precious :o) Nobody could top their cuteness! Here is a picture from Halloween -- Although we didn't do much, it didn't matter! Aiden loved dressing in his monkey costume. In fact, I have been letting him wear it around the house for weeks - He is such a funny kid, wearing his monkey costume or not! Graham was the man in the yellow hat (from Curious George), and is so sweet it gives me a tooth-ache. He wasn't happy wearing the hat -- maybe all that yellow was over kill for him?! All in all, GREAT DAY! The weather could have been nicer, but at least it didn't rain or snow :o)

*Till next time *

Big Buddha Baby

Graham Patrick was born 6 weeks ago, and was a whopping 8 pounds 8 ounces. Not to mention 22 inches long -- Over the past 6 weeks he has become so strong (and has excellent neck control) He is such a joy, even if he is the loudest pooper known to man! Never in my life have I encountered someone who grunts so much. He grunts when he eats, grunts when he toots, grunts when he poops. He is just plain LOUD! Here is a picture of my big man taken on Oct. 24th -- he is on daddy. Speaking of daddy, Graham is Phil's Mini Me. Same hair, same chin, same handsome features :o) (Except Daddy doesn't grunt) Now, I love all my boys the same -- They are all my favorite. I guess I just got lucky :o)

Visiting Hours are CLOSED between 2 - 4

My new favorite part of the day, you ask?!?! That would be 2 O'clock in the afternoon.

SCENE:

Aiden slips into a slumber...Mommy very softly and slowly tiptoes down the hall and shuts our bedroom door. She then starts a very good good, but very girlie movie (the type she doesn't even bother asking her husband if he wants to see, knowing he will undoubtedly say no if it does not include football pads or boobs). Mommy feeds baby Graham, who also falls asleep. PEACE AND QUIET, a new movie from the video store and a bag of popcorn that only consists of 100 calories.

END SCENE -

These are my Do Not Disturb hours. Don't try calling or texting -- It would take a miracle for me to answer :o)

No Nutritional Value

This morning was very different from our normal. (If you can even have normal mornings with 2 kids under the age of 2) -- So anyways, we made the decision to have an empty calorie breakfast consisting of doughnuts and coffee; It occurred to me that this was Aiden's very 1st doughnut! And since I LOVE celebrating our children's first happenings, here is a picture -- Sprinkles and all.

New to this blogging thing....

Wilkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome...

I am a blogger, now! (And couldn't resist the temptation of using some Cabaret lyrics to start it off)

I am a mother of two boys, under the age of 2 -- A wife to a fantastic husband -- And a Girlie-Girl in a house full of sports, cars, and all things boy.

Just a quick description of my present life:
Married for 3 years to Phil
Mommy to Aiden (21 months) and Graham (1 month)
Stay At Home Mom

I hope to get a hang of the blog stuff soon!
