BUI (Blogging Under The Influence)

I went for a Ladies Night Out tonight....Had 3 margaritas -- I am pretty much toast :o) Just wanted to comment on how great of a day we had. (Apart from Graham not wanting to nap this afternoon) So we were up before 7 -- And yes, I need to start firing up my espresso machine again. We went on a walk and played at the park for at least 45 minutes. Had a nice afternoon and are looking forward to Amber coming to town. I just know how much she will love playing with the boys :o)

Over the past couple days I have seen 3 newer movies (An Education, The Young Victoria, & The Daybreakers) The first 2 I really enjoyed -- Especially An Education & T.Y.V. (considering I tried to talk Phil into selling all of our stuff and moving to England - but that was 5 years ago) The Daybreakers was really gory, which I wasn't prepared for - not that I didn't enjoy it..... I just wasn't ready for it.

I really miss being able to see new movies in the theater. I have gone more than Phil - But that is because The Twilight Movies come out so often....Speaking of!!!! Not long now until Eclipse :o) I just know it is going to be good -- The downside?!?! Waiting so long to see Breaking Dawn (Especially if it is in Part 1 & 2) Jody and I will go with all the tween school girls and feel out of place, but hey! It is soooooo worth it :o)

Anywho - Like I said, BUI.

Til next time~

Fingernails Like Razorblades

Why is it so hard to clip baby nails? Shouldn't there be an easier way?! Every 4 - 7 days I need to trim G's fingernails. Otherwise they feel like red hot death being branded into your skin - not a pleasant experience.....And where does he always aim, you may ask?? The face - just so everyone knows that mommy has been lagging on baby hygiene duties.

Today was pretty hot out - but Phil was able to start putting the lattice up to block underneath the deck. I have never been one to enjoy the look of lattice, but the idea of having the area completely off limits to Aiden and the dog is just too much of a good thing.

This week I totally pulled our house apart and it is now a complete disaster. One thing I miss about being knocked up is the nesting and successful organization. I started organizing way too many areas and never finished one.....Not a good idea because now the house is in complete disarray (which I am totally stressed about) and I don't know where to start. Anybody who is pregnant is more than welcome to come help. Pregnancy isn't a requirement (I don't want to discriminate) but I currently cannot think of anyone that would be interested in cleaning and getting things in order.

My sister is coming to stay on Friday - Which I am really looking forward to. She will be here for 3 days and we are going to cram a ton of stuff into her visit. Obviously a zoo trip is in order, going out for sushi, and hanging out with the boys. It is sure to be a good time.

This was also my last week at Jazzercise (insert sad face here). I am having work done on my big nasty wart (located on the bottom of my foot) & the dr said I will need several treatments - 2 weeks apart and with a minimum of 3 or 4 visits....Great. Hope I don't gain back all the weight I lost by busting my ass with cardio several times a week. But I did totally love going to class - and I hope to start back up once I can walk & when my foot is wart free.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways

My favorite things about Mommyhood -

- the sounds of Aiden being crouched at the bottom of the door saying "Mommy, Mommy!" when he wakes up - the slobbery open mouth kiss Graham like to give me on my chin - how my nightstand doesn't consist of the anything but board books about shapes, colors, and cars - how Aiden climbs up in his big boy chair when it's meal time - when Phil gets home from work - how Graham pulls himself to a standing position ON EVERYTHING - the way my house is always a mess with blocks, cars, books, and other small toys - the smell of Dreft - the smell of baby lotion - Aiden's love of bubble baths - the way Graham reaches out for me when he wants to be held - pushing both of my boys in their swings - the little socks and shoes - the immense appreciation and respect I have for my mother, now understanding how much love you feel for your own children - knowing that running around in the backyard for an hour and a half was worth listening to your toddler giggle and explore, even though at the end of the day you are exhausted - understanding that "getting the laundry done" doesn't have to consist of folding and putting it away - nap time - gazing at my peacefully sleeping baby - getting to share photos - hating my stretch marks, but wholeheartedly being grateful getting such fantastic kids for them - watching my husband play, read, comfort & snuggle his children - how I have a closet full of heals that I never "get" to wear -

This life is such a blessing, and I am so grateful that it is mine.

I'm A Busy Stay at Home Mom of 2 & I'm a PC

So our old laptop took a dump 3 days ago. Which is totally a huge pain in the rear - So we went to Best Buy and got a new computer, everyone was super helpful and I am excited about having Windows 7! I never realized how heavy our old laptop was until we got the new one~ So far I absolutely love it....Except for the new digital camera software, I do not know how to work it and feel like a dumb-dumb.

Speaking of Dum-Dums, my best friend Jody and I were out walking with the kids last week and she saved the day!!! Aiden saw a chance to break free and wanted to get outside - Jody pulled the sucker out of her bag & VOILA! Happy toddler.....He looked like a smurf after the blue got all over his hands and face (p.s. I have come a long way since having kids with the whole sticky & messy candies) He was in a good mood after the whole ordeal that I wasn't going to let a blue face get in the way of that! So I followed suit & bought an "in times of crisis" bag of goodies.

Here is a picture of Aiden taken about a month ago - He has really been talking up a storm lately! I love how he can think and speak for himself - Yesterday we were leaving the store and he told me "Annie on the phone - Emmy emms (M&Ms)" So I said back to him "You do have your M&Ms" (Because that is what it took to check out and get into the car seat without a fight) He then said it again.....He wanted me to call Grannie Annie so he could tell her he got his Emmy Emms.... So funny! He also said to the woman at the bakery "A cookie please" It melted her heart & she tried to give him 2....I said, no thanks! Only 1 :o)

This picture of Graham was taken the same day as Aiden's. He was scooting himself across the floor. He really gravitates towards the dining table....There must be something about it, because he loves crawling under the chairs and table, but then gets angry once he is there. He is really crawling now - pretty quick and has started pulling himself up to stand every chance he gets! Will do it with the stairs, toys, chairs - Everything! It makes me so excited to see him learn how to do things, but also gives me sadness thinking that his 1st year is already 2/3 over & in 4 months he will be 1. I guess he doesn't want to be a baby forever :o)

This weekend I am going to Lincoln to meet up with a friend that I haven't seen in forever. I am really looking forward to having a Ladies Night! We used to be really good friends and moving really put a kink in hanging out all the time like we used to. It will be nice to catch up on the latest happenings.

By the way, I have already lost the 15 pounds I made as my New Year's Resolution!!! Now I just need to learn how to open the champagne bottle with a knife :o)

I'm A Sewing Machine.....

Since getting my sewing machine 2 months ago I have done several projects -- My only problem is I keep making things, or fixing the hems on things. Listed below are things I have already made:

- Crib sheet and pillow case for Aiden
Lightening McQueen and Mater fabric
- Sippy Cup leashes for each boy (to attach to stroller)
Blue Polka Dot Ribbon
- Cardigan for myself
Gray Jersey Knit
- 2 Boppy Pillow covers
Solid Brown and Camping print (1st wasn't gift givable, so I kept the ugly one)
- T-shirt for Aiden's George
Just scrap material

Here is a small list on things I am going to make (In No Particular Order):

- Reversible apron
- Convertible dress
- Halloween Costumes for the boys
- Table Cloth
- Drapes for Aiden's Big Boy Room

It is a nice way to take time for myself by doing something I enjoy - But between housework, keeping my 3 favorite guys happy, working out, and reading there isn't much time left to accomplish big projects. I hope I can get the things on my Sew List started soon.

As If Raising Them Isn't Hard Enough

So we were informed that Aiden's crib has been recalled. Grrrr -- We are fortunate enough to not have any issues with it (and obviously I am very thankful for that) but it is just such a pain! I hope we don't have to go through this debacle with Graham's crib too. So tonight we took it back, got the credit, and ordered a new one. We should have it within a week - but now Aiden has to sleep on a mattress that sits on the floor. Phil and I think it will go one of two ways

1.) He wont want to sleep because he will be excited that his room is different or
2.) He wont want to sleep because he will be upset that his room is different

So I guess we will just have to wait and see :o)

Graham has really been crawling up a storm lately - and today he pulled himself up to a standing position on his own, not once but 5 times! HOLY MOLY! My big baby is turning into a big boy very quickly - And now has 2 teeth! We are planning on going to the zoo again this week, just trying to get our money's worth ;o)

My Morning

Today has already been great, and it isn't even 11:00 yet! Graham was up pretty early - So we got some good one-on-one snuggle time in before Aiden & Daddy got up. Here are some things I have already accomplished

- Cuddled with my baby-man (who got his 1st tooth on 4/29!)
- Breastfed Graham upon waking up
- Made a small fort in Aiden's room when he woke up
- Made myself a latte
- Dressed Aiden so we could play
- Pushed him in both the regular and baby swings
- Sat on the deck while Aiden ran circles in the backyard
- Reheated latte b/c I let it sit too long
- Made scrammblie eggs, bacon and toast
- Sat at the table for breakfast with my 3 most favorite of boys
- Cleaned the kitchen/did the dishes
- Put coffee in the microwave for a 2nd time :o)
- Listened to Cars for the 1,000th time (all of which I can quote....UGH)
- Lost track of diapers already....Weird how that happens

I plan on getting 2 baskets of clean laundry folded & put away today, take the boys on a walk while Phil mows the lawn, and read a book I checked out from the library - if an afternoon nap doesn't get in the way!

On a Proud Mommy note: Graham is now crawling on his knees, sitting himself up and working on getting his 2nd tooth! He also said his 1st word: Car -- Looks like his brother is a huge influence :o)

Aiden has also started saying sentences -- which is so exciting because his speech hasn't been as fast as some of his friends! Granted, his friends are all girls that are so chatty he can't get a word in edgewise (isn't that how it turns out with men and women anyways?!) :o) This morning he told me "Aiden in blue swing, mama in yellow"

As of now we don't have any plans for this week (other than jazzercise) - But I do know we will be taking walks, playing in the backyard, and maybe going to the zoo again.
