So while my mom is in town we were planning on doing a ton of fun things outside. Those activities included (but were not limited to) : going on numerous walks, playing at different parks, going swimming & to the spray ground. I guess there is supposed to be rain or a thunderstorm almost everyday! BOOOOOOOOOO - So now I have a toddler who feels couped up, is irritated that we aren't "going away", and throwing fits when the dog gets to go outside in the wet grass.
Maybe what I need to do is this: Instead of making plans to be outside (as this always causes it to rain), we will make plans to hang out inside and then it will be nice out!
We are going to go for ice cream tonight - I am sure it will be busy, but I am even more certain that Aiden will go crazy for his own cone. I once made the mistake of getting him a twist ice cream cone - wont be doing that again....What a mess. Chocolate is not a toddler's friend. I am also guessing he will be getting a bath when we get home. Poor Graham will be left out of the ice cream social...If only he was a little older! Not that I am wishing for that, I wish time would slow down sometimes.
On a different note, I think I am getting sick. What I thought were just some allergies (runny nose, cough, congestion) is getting worse....I fear that everyone else will get it too. Which will not be fun. I am NEVER sick. Graham has never been sick. Aiden has had 2 rounds with a runny nose in his whole 2 1/2 years. Needless to say, not looking forward to what is around the corner.
We will be seeing the G.G.'s soon - and that is what I am most nervous for. My grandmother gets sick with the common cold, but instead of it lasting a couple days it wipes her out for a month. I am praying that does not occur. I am going to pump myself with vitamins in hopes I am in tip top shape for our visit!

Should be cleaning ~
My mother is flying into town tomorrow & we are so excited! I keep reminding Aiden that Grannie Annie is coming to stay and he is very happy :o) We are going to pick her up from the airport and go straight to the zoo in hopes that we avoid most of the College World Series crowd. We also need to be mindful of the weather because our forecast has highs at 89-91 for the next 7 days. I better not forget sunscreen as that would be a total disaster. YIKES, talk about warm and painful.
We are planning a whole bunch of stuff - as well as lounging around and playing indoors. I think both boys will have a ton of fun while she is here!
I took Graham in for his 9 month check up on Monday. He was 24 pounds and 28 inches long! That means since his birth he has grown 6 inches in length and gained 15 1/2 pounds. He is so much fun to squeeze - chubby babies give the best hugs. Might I just add that Aiden didn't even weigh that much at 1 year! He was my little skinny mini :o) Dr Bott said he looked great from a developmental stand point and that we should expect his speech to really start....Just yesterday he began saying Dada - Now we need to work on Mama!
My house does need a little work - wiping down counters, mopping and vacuuming, shoveling toys into toy boxes. And of course, LAUNDRY..... My arch-enemy. But instead of getting this place ready for our guest, I am sitting on my ass enjoying the silence of both boys napping at the same time. It's just cruel having to give that up to clean.....

Great Afternoon
Despite the horrifying pain that is radiating from my latest foot treatment, today was pretty good. Graham napped for a couple hours so Aiden and I enjoyed a movie in Daddy & Mommy's bed. He got to eat some animal crackers while he was locked into Toy Story 2 - Which, by the way, very cute. He just loves Woody the Cowboy. If it was closer to October I would make him the costume for Halloween!
I got a lot of laundry folded and put away during our movie experience, which is so relieving because for some reason I can't find the gumption to just do it. I think it sucks! But somebody has to do it - because our housekeeper never shows up anymore. HA!
In the mail I got this "Thrill of The Grill" package from Oscar Mayer - We are planning on having a family playdate with some of our really good friends. The package included coupons for their Select Line of hot dogs, frisbees, soft baseballs & even wiener whistles! I think the kids will have so much fun playing in the backyard and eating at the Little Tikes picnic table.
Tomorrow is also Phil's birthday - my old man is going to be 27! And I will say every year he becomes more handsome, generous, funny, loving, and is genuinely the best person I know. He means so much to me, whether a situation is big or small, nothing means more to me than getting to share my life with him. I am so thankful that he was born.

Laundry In The Washing Machine
Apparently I forgot that I started laundry yesterday, or thought I had put it into the dryer....That's just great! So now this particular load is going through the machine for a second time - At least they weren't stinky, See Lyndi, things can always be worse :o) Anyways - I really wanted to wear some of my yoga/workout pants, but no -
What did I do to my brain cells?! Was it all of those happy hours that Rongisch and I used to partake in? Bad decisions I have made along the way?! Maybe they were sucked out of my head after the birth of our children....And so it will remain a mystery.
I am left to think (amazing I can muster the strength to do so at all) that maybe I should wear nicer things - After all I would hate for Stacy London to show up and rip me to shreds. But what competes with a pair of black yoga pants?! Maybe I should get the Vintage Dior skirt out of the closet....That would look nice with sweet potato stains on it - Or possibly the Valentino Macramé Lace Dress, even better with spit up on it. (No, I don't own either of those)
The fact of the matter is, yoga pants are just too easy to put on and even more comfortable to chase kids around in. But what am I doing? Sitting here blogging about the inconvience of being forgetful and not wearing them. DAMN YOU BRAIN CELLS!

Graham Is A Noodle Boy
Here is a short video I took on our digital camera (because getting the camcorder out and having a DVD ready to record is just not going to happen) - Graham was having little pieces of whole wheat spaghetti, and absolutely loved eating them. My little baby is growing up so fast :o) Everyday he amazes me with how fast he is crawling, how much he pulls himself up to stand, or how independent he has become. He really loves playing with his brother, but we had a small accident on Monday morning :o( Poor Baby Graham got his 1st black eye - The boys were playing together and Graham got knocked with a musical toy that is entirely too loud. Things could be worse - like the toy being more boisterous, or G needing some stitches at the hospital....I suppose That's Life.
Bowling Bonanza
Over the weekend Rongisch and I took the kids bowling -- Not in the sense of Mommy & Daddy getting all liquored up and throwing gutter balls, but a good old fashioned family outing.
Being the cheap-o that I am I signed Aiden up for this "Kids Bowl Free" all summer thing. It gave us the option to sign up as well, for 25 bucks. (Which we did -- we don't bowl often - but it pays for itself in no time) So with this pass you can bowl 2 games for free every day for a few months.

Aiden had such a good time, was able to pick up a 6 pound ball, and place it on this little metal ramp to help him get the ball down the lane. He started saying "YES!" when it would hit a lot of pins -- And I even hear him say "Ohhhh - Gutter Ball!"
His 1st game he scored a 59. And I don't remember what the 2nd game was, he was starting to become less interested by that point. I am looking forward to taking him again - Maybe for a playdate during the week.
Maybe I should get him a toddler sized bowling shirt - that way he can impress the ladies with his strength of lifting a bowling ball paired with his debonair good looks.

My Bum Foot
So I went to the doc yesterday and started the first round of several treatments for removing my wart. What we found is not good news. First of all - he had to scrape the skin off the top to get down to it. What I originally thought to be around the size of a dime actually turned out to be a quarter. It was a cluster of 8, instead of 1 giant creature - Like some disgusting mutant wart that is trying to take over and rule the world.
Anyways - he used a chemical to burn it (instead of freezing it). At the time of application it didn't hurt - But 4 hours later my foot was on fire! All in all I would say that this was much more comfortable than Phil being out of town for 4 days :o)
I have to go back once a week until it is gone - My guess, it will probably be early to mid July before it starts to disappear. So now I am only able to walk either on the side of my foot or on my heal. Not a good look! So for the next couple days we will just be at home - Thank goodness for swing sets and fenced in backyards :o)

Mommy Needs A Timeout
Phil has been on vacation with his brothers and cousin since Saturday morning. I just know he had a great time - and he really deserved to get out and have some time to himself. My sister came to help me out with my boys - but left over 24 hours ago and I am exhausted! Holy smokes - Aiden would not go to bed last night (cried, screamed, kept turning his bedroom light on) He did this from 9 - 12 last night & then was up at 6. He jumped into bed with me but only did so for an hour. Graham was also up at 4:15 to eat and then fell back asleep til 7. I mentioned exhausted, right?!?!
Now it is 4 and Aiden has been resisting taking a nap for an hour and a half. Poor guy has to be pooped - I just don't understand why he wont lay down....I could fall asleep before my head even hits the pillow!
Phil is coming home tonight (Thank Goodness!) and I can't help but think how slow these last hours of him not being here are going to go. I was glad to have my sister here, but am ready to get back into our normal routine... And normal napping schedule too!
