Ribbit!

Tonight we went out for burgers and fries & enjoyed a nice little stroll around Shadow Lake Towne Center. As of last I have only been using our little umbrella stroller - Which is a nice little break from the double stroller (even though I do love my dbl). Aiden's obsession of the week is acting like a frog. Everywhere.

Grocery store, Ribbit. Time to read & take a nap, Ribbit. Going for a haircut, Ribbit. So in true Aiden fashion, here is a short video of him out & about tonight!

Graham was his wonderful little self while we were out for dinner. He is getting so good at walking and talking & his personality just shines. Today he was just laughing up a storm playing with his Woody the Cowboy plush. Thank goodness for that infectious happiness because I was really down in the dumps this morning. With some kind words from Rongisch and the sweet actions of my boys I was able to say "To hell with my problem" (at least for now - I am sure the issue with persist).

But the day went on, and is ending on a great note! There were no meltdowns during dinner out, nobody ran into the street while we were walking, and now the kids are both in bed - I hope that doesn't jinx it! We are going to enjoy a few beers, watch a movie - or at least part of one. And hope the boys sleep through the night.

Another Red Letter Day At The Rongisch House

Isn't that fantastic. As if today isn't difficult enough, we added baby poop to the carpet - just for good measure. I had another treatment on my foot yesterday & also my thumb treated by a dermatologist. Holy Burning Flesh, worst smell and feeling I have experienced. EVER. I can't get around very quick for the first 3 days after having my foot scorched with a chemical. And while my thumb isn't feeling as bad as I thought it would, he totally hacked off a chunk of the side (by the nail). I just took the band-aid off to put on another and if I wasn't a tough girl I would have vomited.

I am being so graphic today - I assume this is not something you are wanting to hear! Back to the poop. HA! So Graham has been walking like crazy lately, he was making his way over to the couch when I hear some toots - it progresses into you know what. And just as I was going after him to change the dip-dip he falls and it shoots out the side. Splendid. So now I have a sore foot, a bum thumb, and crap all over the carpet. Just another reason I want hard wood floors.

I know I am being Debbie Downer today, and I apologize for that. Things could be a lot worse. While the boys still have runny noses from our trip to story time at the library, at least I don't. Even though any parent you ask would rather be suffering with it themselves then have their kids be sick (Or husband for that matter - sick husbands are worse then sick kids) --Where was I going with this though -- Oh, right. At least it is only a runny nose.

Bitching today - Not the best post. Not by a long shot. I need to work on my "glass being half full" thing for this afternoon. I hope your day is going better than mine!

Spouse Rivalry

So Rongisch started his own blog. We were talking about it over the weekend and he was all "I think I want to start a blog, but I don't know what I would write about". The second that sentence came out of his mouth I knew it would be sports. It is something he loves - sometimes to an unhealthy level. Much like obsession. Anywho, he started it on Sunday and has already put out 3 posts. And not just short blurbs. These things are long, and very well written. I am must say, I am jealous! I know my husband is smart. He put himself through college, worked full time doing it, and was on the Dean's List every term. Smart Cookie that one. I have never had the privilege of reading anything he has done - until his first post went up.

I gotta say, and it isn't because I am partial or anything - DAMN, he is good. I know I won't be very familiar with all of the topics he chooses (DUH), but I definitely look forward to reading them. And maybe this is really good for me - Knowing that the boys will play sports, maybe this new blog is like preschool for me. Sports 101 if you will. I am proud to follow his blog, and even more proud to be married to someone who puts his opinions out there for the world to see.

I wish you so much success with you blog honey!

Check it out for yourself:

Starting To Walk

Yep! I am the proud Mommy of a 10 month old walking boy! Graham took his first steps on Saturday while we were visiting some family. It was so exciting, but I didn't have our video camera :o( I did tape him today while brother was napping - Which was great because Aiden loves being around his little brother, and that doesn't always help when a newly mobile little one is trying to do his thing.

Everyday Graham is getting a little more comfortable and a little more daring on his feet. I am pretty sure the baby fat is going to start melting off soon - I better savor those fat little thighs while he still has them! I mean it too. Those chubby rolls are the most charming things about a fatty baby. That and elbow dimples.

There is one thing I can't deny - My baby boy will be 1 in less than 2 months. We have almost survived the "year of trial and error" - Never in a million years would I think it would go so quickly. But I'm not going to dwell on that just yet....I will inhabit that realm in a few months.

Here is a small video of my darling doing his thing. Enjoy!

Waffle Cone Wednesday

Last night after dinner we went to TCBY. They are having their "Waffle Cone Wednesday" special again this year! They increased their price, but they also increased the size! When we got their Phil & I thought that Aiden could have his own......Maybe not such a great idea! If they would have been the same size as last year he would have been fine, but the size of this ice cream cone was HUGE - and melty - and sticky - and just radiated summer fun :o)

I enjoyed the grapefruit sorbet and OH MY WORD! It literally tasted just like a grapefruit, it was truly delectable. Phil had his golden vanilla, the dependable old flavor that is like that hug you need after a bad day. Aiden sampled the Hawaiian pineapple and went gaga over it, so that was what he got. Once the pineapple flavor hit his lips he was in the zone - staring off into space while biting off chunks of the cone. Graham had some very small tastes of each & didn't seem to be all that impressed by any of the choices we had made.

The after effects of having our sweet treats last night has really messed me up for today. All I can think about is Irish butter on some fresh French bread, German chocolate cupcakes, and Cuban sandwiches. And I don't have any of that here - except for the bread!

On another food note - I made my Grandma's sauce and meatball recipe last week. HOLY GOODNESS! They take part of the day to make, but are so scrumptious! The 5 hours it takes to make them are well worth it! Now we are set for awhile, but it got me thinking - Maybe I should jar the sauce?! I have never done something like that before, how hard can it be?!?! Probably more difficult than a mommy with 2 very active little boys can handle right now :o) Maybe I will try it next time I make them. We will see!

Sunday Afternoon

A nice little picture of my lovelies and me.

Did You Miss Me?!?!

Hello.......Hello?!?! Is anyone there?

We have been so busy over the last few weeks! First, my mom came to Omaha for a week - It was so much fun. Aiden and Graham really had a blast with Grannie Annie. We went to the zoo, the park, the spray ground. Phil & I got to go out on a date - She was a big help with the kids especially since I had my foot treated while she was here.

I loved all the things around the house that got done too! Completely cleared out a huge closet & organized it. Dishes didn't sit around to be washed or put away. Laundry was somehow magically sorted, washed/dried and folded. It was comparable to being in the twilight zone!

Since Phil couldn't take a whole week off of work, the kids and I (and Grannie Annie) drove to Colorado. It was great not having to do it by myself! I would have never been able to do it with 2 boys this age. I had such a fantastic time! Got to see my family and some friends, have coffee with my grandparents almost every morning. We had something going on EVERYDAY. Needless to say, I had a very good time - but it was exhausting! Phil flew out a week later for a 4 day weekend and we drove home on Monday the 5th.

Last week I was a total bum, couldn't blog to save my life! But that is all changing today :o)
