Pop Goes The Cork!
One of the resolutions I made for 2010 was to learn how to pop the cork off of a champagne bottle using a knife. During the last year I thought about it many times but never actually did anything about it. So in true resolution fashion I went with last minute accomplishment - trying it an hour before the ball drop (central time, of course) Here is the video we shot while I tried it for the 1st time. SUCCESS! It was so cold out, and windy - Sorry for the interference! Happy 2011!

It's Baaaaaaaaack
The growth. The wart. DAMN YOU FOOT!
The wart I spent 10 weeks trying to eradicate this summer is still going strong. Like the tenant you are trying to evict. It just wont go away. I decided that before the year was up, and before the deductible on our insurance starts over, that I would seek the help of a dermatologist. So this morning I went thinking I would have it lasered off, leaving the appointment with a hole the (minimum) size of a quarter. Not so. I was treated with an anti-cancer drug. He injected the wart with Bleomycin and it hurt like a son-of-a-beach. As painful as having the injection was, it was no comparison to trying to hobble around on a silver dollar sized blister - like I did for the greater part of the summer. So here's hoping the treatment works! Maybe this will be my New Year's Resolution......To officially rid myself of this wart, no matter the pain or expense.

My Honker Bonker
Today was Graham's 15 month appointment - Of course we got there early (like they recommend) then sat in the waiting room til 15 minutes past our appointment time. Then got his height and weight and waited another 20 minutes before we saw the doctor. I tell ya what - They are lucky we like them because we were there for over an hour for a minimal check up. No shots, no problems, no issues - Just a development check. Grrrrrr
So my big boy weighed in at just under 27 pounds! Honker Bonker, indeed! I like to call him "Back Breaker" as he is just so heavy! Maybe that nickname will stick..... "And in this corner, Graham "The Back Breaker" Rongisch. Yep - sounds good to me! I will say one thing - He has become more snuggly of a baby! Ahhh, love me some chubby cuddles. Today he walked over to me rubbed his eye with his hand, held his arms up for me to pick him up, and feel asleep on my chest within 45 seconds. These are the moments I love. Not to be confused with the screaming fits, explosive diapers, or the night wakings. Aiden has always been that way, wanting to always be loved on & Graham is just more independent - Not wanting to stay put for long. Maybe the flu that infiltrated our house during Thanksgiving did do some good - It made my big baby man realize how nice it is to be held for long periods of time!
