Day of Play

Here are a couple pictures taken by my baby sister Alli last week. We went to visit Grandpa in the field during harvest! Rode in the combine, played with the corn, went to the park, got some ice cream. It was a really great day - with the exception of the boys not taking their naps! It was so fun seeing both of my sisters at the same time. The last time we were all together was last summer  :o( One thing is for sure - I think they finally understand how hard it is to parent 2 little boys!

Train Towns

We have really gotten carried away with trains. No.....I don't think you understand. I mean we have gone insane for choo-choos lately. I would hate to think how much we have spent on tracks, and engines, and accessories. Probably enough to send one of the kids to college. "Sorry, _______. But you can't attend UNL because we spent a small fortune on Thomas Take and Play"

Here is a picture of a train town that Daddy made - The boys LOVED IT. This was taken on Graham's 2nd Birthday. We went out for donuts, had some coffee - came back to open gifts, and had so much fun.

Here is a train town that Mommy made - Pretty darn nice, don't ya think?! Surprisingly, this lasted for about 2 hours. By far the longest amount of time that something has ever lasted at our house!

Out To Dinner!

Today was a pretty good day! Graham got his 13th tooth (should that be an unlucky tooth, I wonder?!), we played inside at home because it was pretty cold and breezy out, and I happened to work out for 3 hours.

Not all at once, but for 2 hours during G's nap and an hour earlier in the day. I was actually working out with a friend online via web cam. It was so cool to be able to chat a little then burn some calories. In no way did I intend to do it for so long, time just ran away from me!

Tonight we were able to go out for a nice dinner. We went to the Olive Garden - I would say we were the "early bird special" demographic - but we even beat the early birds in!

We got there at 5, had a butt load of food (not that it matters - considering all of that exercise from earlier) stopped at Target then came home. The boys are now in their beds and off into dreamland - Such a wonderful way to wind down the week.

Budding Photographer

This past week when Aiden wasn't stripping down and running around naked he was playing with our digital camera. He got some very cute pictures and even managed to change the setting to record a video.
He took this silly picture of G!

And one of himself, too!

I didn't know he was recording this video - So please excuse the bedhead!

Party It Up

This weekend was something special. I went out 2 nights in a row! Can you believe it?!

It started on Friday - When a few friends and I met up at Lava Ultra Lounge. An old friend of mine offered us bottle service to celebrate my birthday, and how could I say no?! The DJ was great, the look and set up of the bar was great, and the service was impeccable. We had a great time - I just wish it would have been busier. Nobody was on the dance floor, so that made it hard to get out there. In fact, I didn't dance at all  :o(  Would I go back? HELL YES! But maybe on a Saturday night instead.

p.s - If you have never tried Ciroc Vodka, you should. It is really good. I don't drink vodka......ever. But this was a light, no after-burn, smooth experience.  Thank you so much Elliott & Lava Ultra Lounge. I will be back!

Saturday was mostly normal. Getting up with the kids, playing around the house, teaching my fitness class. But Saturday night was completely out of our realm. The kids went to stay at LoLo & PopPop's house! This is the very 1st time G has ever stayed over night......And the last time A did was 2 years ago! So this was a treat for us. Phil and I went to dinner at 7M Grill. The martini I had was mouthwatering, the food was commendable, but the service was less than impressive. Would I eat there again? Yes. Would I go out of my way to get there? No. We then met up with a few people for drinks, then went home.

The best thing about having the kids stay with Gma & Gpa was being able to wake up on my own terms. They had such a good time, but we both received colossal hugs upon our arrival.

The weekend was so nice, and almost like a mini vacation. But it is Monday Morning and I have already been to the dermatologist for my forth round of treatment on my foot. Nothing screams "The Fun Is OVERRRRRRRRR" like anti-cancer drugs being pumped into the bottom your foot.

Short & Sweet

Last night we are all playing on the living room floor - cars, trains, trucks. Graham (who doesn't have the best balance, and likes to run like a wild man) was Going, Going, Gone and face planted into our brown chair. Of course it was followed by screaming and crying. Phil & I both held our hands out (he was 5 steps away from us) and so did Aiden! He was copying what we were doing and then started saying what we were as well. So cute, he was telling his brother "Come Here Baby" and what do you know.......Graham bypassed mom and dad and ran to Aiden for a reassuring hug. Well, more like he tackled Aiden. But it was so sweet, and with tears welling up in my eyes I couldn't have pictured a better way to end the day.

Need The Hockabickers

Yep, that's right. The hockabickers. We were driving home from the Omaha Children's Museum today and told Aiden we could stop and get lunch somewhere. He told me he wanted some chicken and some fries, which is fine because it is (after all) the weekend leading up to his 3rd Birthday. I told him to look for the big M in the sky. He grabbed his imaginary binoculars, brought them up to his face and said "Need My Hockabickers".

Oh, the sweet innocence of childhood!

(p.s - Graham was so tired on the way home from playing for 2 solid hours that he was snoring in the backseat....Very loudly, at that. Thank goodness for places like the OCM, being able to give my kids the opportunity to expend energy in the winter time and to learn something new is worth it's weight in gold!)
